About SuicideLine Victoria
SuicideLine Victoria is a free 24/7 telephone, video and online counselling service offering professional support to people at risk of suicide, people concerned about someone else’s risk of suicide, and people bereaved by suicide.
As the only state-based telephone service in Australia dedicated to suicide prevention, our professionally trained counsellors have specialist skills in working with suicide-related issues and they can help you to work through the pain and distress you may be feeling.
SuicideLine Victoria answers thousands of calls each year from people in Victoria affected by suicide. Around 80% of calls are from people at risk of suicide themselves. SuicideLine Victoria ensures these people are kept safe and supported during their time of need.
Who we help
SuicideLine Victoria offers crisis support to anyone in Victoria who is aged 15 years and older.
We can help anyone who is affected by suicide, which includes:
- Anyone who is thinking about suicide
- Anyone who is concerned about someone
- Anyone who is caring for someone who is feeling suicidal
- Anyone who is bereaved by suicide
- Health professionals supporting people who are affected by suicide.
How it works
SuicideLine Victoria provides immediate telephone counselling and support in a crisis. Your call will be answered by a counsellor.
You can also sign up for free video and online chat counselling on our website.
We offer both single and multi-session counselling services to eligible clients.
